Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray rues poor finishing in goalless draw

Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray admits that he was disappointed with his side's poor finishing in their goalless draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray has rued his side's lack of cutting edge in their 0-0 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Owls had several clear chances to win the Championship match with Atdhe Nuhiu especially guilty as he blazed two efforts over the bar, while Kieran Lee also spurned good openings at Hillsborough.

Gray told Sky Sports News: "In the second half we dominated the game on a difficult pitch - again we're talking about the pitch - but I feel for Atdhe at the end there with the chance he's created for himself.

"He's gone to side-foot it and it's bobbled up and it's ended up going off his shin which is very frustrating, but on a normal pitch you just stroke that in because he's created his chance excellently. I think Kieran Lee has had two, maybe three chances to put us in front.

"Credit to the boys because I wanted a response. On Tuesday we were very poor against Ipswich and I can't fault the effort. Again it's just that little missing piece of the jigsaw."

Wednesday are 11th in the Championship table following their draw against the relegation-threaten Seagulls.
