Carlos Carvalhal "proud" of Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal admits that he is "proud" of his side's progress in recent months following their goalless draw with Derby County.

Carlos Carvalhal has said that he is "proud" of the progress that Sheffield Wednesday have made in the five months following his appointment.

The Owls sit just outside the playoff places in the Championship after sharing a goalless draw with Derby County at Hillsborough this afternoon.

"We have been here for just five months and to create this kind of team is amazing, we are in a very good way. I am not happy with the score because I think we deserved the win but I am happy with my team," the club's Twitter account quotes the manager as saying.

"We had problems with our centre-backs but we never talk about excuses, we're not here to do that. Derby are strong but we're in a different position, new players, new coach, new style and playing like we are, we are proud.

"I'm not saying we are better than Derby today, we had better quality on the pitch. When we play at Hillsborough, we are playing in a fantastic environment and the fans are our 12th player."

Sheffield Wednesday have lost just once in their last 13 matches in the league.
