Chris Wilder to leave Sheffield United over transfer disagreement?

A report claims that Chris Wilder could leave Sheffield United at the end of the season unless he is given assurances by owner Abdullah bin Musa'ad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Chris Wilder's future as Sheffield United manager is reportedly uncertain following a disagreement with the club's owners over key issues such as recruitment.

The 53-year-old admitted last week that he cannot guarantee he will be in charge at Bramall Lane next season, with the Blades destined to drop into the Championship.

According to the Daily Mail, Wilder has grown unhappy with off-the-field issues, including a lack of investment in the club's training facilities.

The report suggests that Wilder would like to stay on beyond this summer, but he will only do so if backed by owner Abdullah bin Musa'ad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

United's wealthy backers are said to be looking to appoint a director of football to oversee any transfer activity, which is causing further friction behind the scenes.

The Yorkshire outfit are 12 points adrift of safety ahead of Saturday's home clash with Southampton.
