League Two roundup: Scunthorpe United miss chance to go top

Scunthorpe United miss the chance to go top of League Two after a 2-2 draw at Newport County, while Rochdale thrash Oxford United 3-0.

Scunthorpe United missed the chance to move ahead of Chesterfield at the summit of League Two following a 2-2 draw at Newport County this afternoon.

The Iron had battled back from a goal down to lead, but Chris Zebroski equalised in the last minute for the hosts.

Rochdale moved within a point of Scunthorpe with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Oxford United. Scott Hogan was the hero for John Coleman's side, as the 21-year-old netted a hat-trick.

Ben Kee scored twice for Burton Albion, who sneaked past Accrington Stanley with a 2-1 win.

Elsewhere, Barry Corr put Southend United ahead against Wycombe Wanderers, but an own goal by goalkeeper Daniel Bentley ensured that the visitors took a point from Roots Hall.

Plymouth Argyle thumped Morecambe 5-0, with Lewis Alessandra scoring twice, while Hartlepool brushed aside Torquay United in a 3-0 victory.
