Report: Gordon Strachan Scotland future to be decided on Thursday

Gordon Strachan's future as Scotland boss will be discussed at a Scottish FA board meeting on Thursday, according to reports.

The Scottish Football Association will discuss Gordon Strachan's future as manager of the national team on Thursday, according to reports.

Strachan became Scotland boss in January 2013, succeeding Craig Levein, and has overseen two full qualification campaigns, including Euro 2016 as well as World Cup 2018.

Scotland, however, failed to qualify for either tournament, with their campaign to reach Russia falling just short after the team finished third in Group F on goal difference.

According to Sky Sports News, Strachan - who is contracted until the end of November - will not be present at the meeting in Hampden Park as the SFA deliberates over who will lead the national team.

Scotland have failed to qualify for a major tournament since the World Cup in France in 1998.
