Canada and USA have played out a 0-0 draw in Toronto.
Jurgen Klinsmann's men dominated play at the BMO Field for large portions of the game but were unable to put the ball in the net.
Their first opening came after three minutes, when Carlos Bocanegra flicked on from a corner, only for Clarence Goodson to shoot wide from close range.
Edgar Eduardo Castillo shot at Lars Hirschfeld from long range, before the Canadian keeper was twice being called upon to deny Clint Dempsey from identical angles.
Both teams had golden opportunities to snatch a win at the death, with the first falling to Canada.
Dwayne De Rosario weaved his magic inside the USA box before cutting back for Simeon Jackson, who shot wide from just yards out as Tim Howard's goal beckoned.
Goodson was given chance to make amends for his 3rd-minute miss, but once again Hirschfeld was alert to the danger and saved well from his powerful header.
The match ended all square, although USA may feel that they had done enough to win the game.
