Captain Robbie Keane is facing a race against time to be fit for the Republic of Ireland's decisive Euro 2012 qualifier against Armenia on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old striker sustained an abductor muscle injury during Ireland's 2-0 victory in Andorra yesterday evening.
Keane underwent a scan earlier today and manager Giovanni Trapattoni should know whether his skipper will be available for Tuesday's match later today.
Despite the potential loss of Keane, Trapattoni's attacking options have been boosted by the arrival of Jonathan Walters into the squad.
The Stoke City striker missed the Andorra fixture with an ankle problem.
