The agent of Carlos Vela has revealed that his client, who represents Real Sociedad, is currently "waiting" on a potential move to MLS side Colorado Rapids.
Last week, Colorado sporting director Claudio Lopez revealed that his club were interested in signing the 26-year-old, who is said to be unsettled in Spain.
Talk of a move cooled when Vela was named in the Sociedad XI for Saturday's clash with Barcelona, but the Mexican's agent Eduardo Hernandez has confirmed that a deal is still in the pipeline.
"In his case, we're waiting on something happening. The MLS have a say, when a club registers interest in a player, there is the right of the first approach," Marca quotes Hernandez as saying.
"This is what has happened with Colorado. They have a right to be present, and the same right can be transferred to another club. We want to hear from them, but that doesn't mean he'll go."
Vela, who is believed to be valued in the region of £10.5m, has only managed two league goals this season.
