How Real Madrid could line up with Kylian Mbappe

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up next season if they manage to sign Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid continue to be linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe.

There is no question that the coronavirus pandemic will have a huge impact on summer spending, but it is certainly not against all realms of possibility to imagine Madrid signing Mbappe ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Indeed, the 21-year-old's current deal in Paris is due to expire in little over two years, and the speculation surrounding a proposed move to the Bernabeu continues to gather pace.

Los Blancos have a lot of talent in the final third, but it would perhaps be fair to say that the team is in need of an injection of pace at the top end of the pitch.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the capital giants could line up if they bring Mbappe to the Bernabeu ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

POSS RM XI MBAPPE

Madrid continue to be linked with a move for Manchester United's Paul Pogba, but it is difficult to imagine the club being able to afford the Frenchman if they manage to sign Mbappe this summer.

Federico Valverde has enjoyed a terrific campaign for Zidane's team, though, and would be, as it stands, the favourite to start alongside Toni Kroos and Casemiro in the middle of the park next term.

Ferland Mendy is also ahead of Marcelo when it comes to the left-back spot, while Dani Carvajal should keep out the returning Achraf Hakimi at right-back to start alongside Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos.

Eden Hazard has had a tough season due to injury, managing just one goal in 15 appearances, but the Belgium international is sure to improve next term. There has been talk of a new striker arriving at the Bernabeu, but Karim Benzema has scored 19 times in 36 appearances this season and is a favourite of Zidane.

Mbappe, who has scored 30 times and registered 17 assists in 33 appearances for the French champions this season, could therefore take the spot on the right of the attack.

The 2018 World Cup winner has played off the right, off the left and through the middle for PSG this term, though, and his versatility makes him even more attractive to potential suitors.

If Madrid do manage to sign the France international and get Hazard back to his best then there is no question that the capital giants will be a team to be feared across Europe next term.
