Real Madrid have learned that Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni will provide them with an answer on his future within 48 hours, according to a report.
The 22-year-old has been widely expected to join Los Blancos this summer following an advancement in talks with the Ligue 1 side in recent days, with an €80m (£68.6m) fee reportedly close to being agreed.
However, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in keeping Tchouameni in Ligue 1 according to a report from Marca, with Mauricio Pochettino's side set to table a bid for the midfielder in the coming days.
The report suggests that Real remain confident in acquiring the Frenchman's signature however, although they do accept that PSG could well offer a significantly higher transfer fee and wages to what they are capable of offering.
Real have been informed that they will learn of Tchouameni's decision within the next two days though, whom they have targeted to bring to the Sanitago Bernabeu for some time.
Were PSG to beat the Champions League holders to his signing, it would likely create further tension between the two clubs following Kylian Mbappe's controversial U-turn to extend his contract in Paris in recent weeks, having previously been expected to join Real on a free transfer this summer.
