Lassana Diarra is poised to join Anzhi from Real Madrid, subject to passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

Lassana Diarra has reportedly left Spanish giants Real Madrid to join big-spending Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala.

The versatile 26-year-old, formerly of both Arsenal and Chelsea, had been linked with a return to the Premier League after failing to become an established regular at Los Blancos.

Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers were linked with a move for the Frenchman, but Anzhi have reopened their cheque book to secure his signature.

The move is pending Diarra passing a medical and agreeing personal terms, but both of those are thought to be formalities, such is the player's desire to leave Madrid.
