Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly not be returning to Real Madrid this summer despite recent suggestions that the Portuguese was eyeing a move back to Spain.
A recent report claimed that the 35-year-old, who scored 450 goals for Los Blancos between 2009 and 2018, was interested in returning to the Bernabeu during this summer's transfer window.
Ronaldo's international teammate Jose Fonte also claimed that he "wouldn't be surprised" if the forward re-joined the capital giants from Juventus.
However, according to The Mirror, the former Sporting Lisbon youngster 'slammed the door firmly shut behind him' when he left the Bernabeu to join the Old Lady in the summer of 2018.
The report claims that it is 'nonsensical' for Ronaldo to re-join Los Blancos ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Madrid's all-time leading goalscorer has scored 53 times in 75 outings for the Italian champions and has a contract in Turin until the end of the 2021-22 season.
