Gareth Bale will refuse to leave Real Madrid this summer unless his huge wages are met, according to a report.

Gareth Bale will reportedly refuse to leave Real Madrid in this summer's transfer window unless his huge wages - said to be in the region of £700,000 a week - are met.

Bale still has three years left to run on his contract at the Bernabeu, but the 29-year-old has struggled for form this season and it is understood that Zinedine Zidane wants the Welshman to be sold.

According to The Mirror, though, the former Tottenham Hotspur attacker will refuse to leave the European champions unless his current financial package is met.

Previous reports have placed Bale on around £350,000 a week at Madrid, but The Mirror has claimed that the actual figure is closer to double that amount.

Manchester United, Tottenham and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the Wales international, who has managed just eight La Liga goals during the 2018-19 campaign.
