Zinedine Zidane 'has four games to save Real Madrid job'

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane reportedly has four matches to save his job at the club, beginning with Saturday's El Clasico showdown with Barcelona.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane could reportedly only have four games to save his job.

The club legend led Los Blancos to only their second La Liga title since 2011-12 last season, but their defence of that crown suffered an early setback with a 1-0 home defeat to newly-promoted Cadiz last weekend.

Madrid were then shocked by a coronavirus-depleted Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday night, falling three goals down in the first half at their temporary Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano home before ultimately going down 3-2.

Those back-to-back defeats have seen the pressure on Zidane's shoulders grow heading into the first Clasico of the season on Saturday, and Marca reports that the next four games will be decisive for his future at the club.

A visit to Barcelona is first up on Saturday, before Champions League games against Borussia Monchengladbach and Inter Milan either side of a league match against Huesca.

Club president Florentino Perez is reportedly not considering sacking his three-time Champions League-winning coach yet, but could look to make a change if their poor form extends over the next four games.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino and Castilla head coach Raul have reportedly been lined up as possible successors.
