Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that any possible rivalry between him and Lionel Messi should be considered positive.
The debate of who is the better player between Ronaldo and the Barcelona star has been going on for most of their respective careers, but the Portuguese forward insists that he does not give it much thought.
"This is part of my life," the 29-year-old is quoted as saying byWorld Soccer. "It is normal that people compare us. I am used to it. It happened to me at Manchester United and I know how to manage it.
"We are football colleagues. Outside of football I have no relationship with Messi, but not with other players either. It is a positive rivalry."
Ronaldo's agent claimed on Thursday that he could retire at the age of 40 at Madrid.
