Alvaro Arbeloa faces eight weeks out with knee injury

Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa confirms that he will be out for eight weeks due to a knee injury.

Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa has confirmed that he faces at least two months on the sidelines due to a knee injury.

The Spaniard was expected to only be out for three weeks but the latest news from the club's medical staff means that his hopes of playing in this summer's World Cup could be in jeopardy.

"I will be out for a minimum of eight weeks," Arbeloa told Goal.com.

"In the end the injury has proven to be much more serious than it first looked."

Arbeloa has started just 13 La Liga games this season due to the form of Dani Carvajal.
