Head coach Carlo Ancelotti reiterates his desire to remain at Real Madrid, despite frequent speculation regarding a future acceptance of the Brazil job.

Carlo Ancelotti has continued to play down speculation linking him with the Brazil job.

Since Tite departed his role with the five-time world champions, Ancelotti has been tipped as a clear frontrunner for the vacant position.

As it stands, Ramon Menezes has taken the reins on an interim basis, allowing the Brazilian FA (CBF) more time to find a permanent alternative in the dugout.

Ancelotti has constantly insisted that he would happily remain at the Santiago Bernabeu for the remainder of the career if that is the choice of club officials.

However, that has not ended talk of a future move to the South American nation, with Real and Brazil winger Rpodrygo and CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues both adding fuel to the fire in recent days.

Rodrygo told Globo: "We joke with Ancelotti that we're waiting for him in Brazil. He jokes that we'll make the call-up together with Militao and Vini (Vinicius Junior). But you know, every joke has a little bit of truth in it. I think he could be a serious candidate to take Brazil job"

Meanwhile, Rodrigues said to Reuters: "Ancelotti is unanimously respected among players. Not only Ronaldo Nazario or Vinicius Jr but all those that have played for him.

"I really admire him for his honesty in the way he works and how constant his work is. He needs no introductions. He is really a top coach who has several achievements and we hope he can have even more."

In response, Ancelotti has again opted to dismiss suggestions that he could soon take on a national team position for the first time in his career.

As quoted by Marca, the Italian said: "I want to stay at Real Madrid. I'm happy. I have said many times that I would stay at Real Madrid for the rest of my life."

Ancelotti enjoyed an outstanding 2021-22 with Real, winning the La Liga title before beating Liverpool in the Champions League final in Paris.

This campaign, however, Los Blancos sit 12 points adrift of leaders Barcelona in Spain's top flight, and trail their fierce rivals after the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final.

Real have been drawn to face Chelsea in the last eight of the Champions League, with the winners playing either Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the semis.
