Osian Roberts expects Gareth Bale to be back "within next 10 days"

Wales coach Osian Roberts believes that Gareth Bale's calf strain, which saw him miss the midweek win over Atletico Madrid, will be cleared up "within the next 10 days".

Osian Roberts is confident that Gareth Bale will be back fit and firing before the end of the season to bolster the hopes of both Real Madrid and Wales.

The 25-year-old is likely to spend a further fortnight on the sidelines, having picked up a leg injury in last weekend's victory over Malaga.

It was initially feared that Bale would miss the remainder of the campaign, meaning he would be a major doubt for Wales's crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Belgium in June, but Dragons coach Roberts has now further eased these concerns.

"Our medical team have been in touch with Real Madrid. It's a calf strain and it should clear up within the next 10 days," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"That's good news, as he should be back playing before the end of the season as he has some big games coming up for Real."

Bale has scored 17 goals in 43 appearances for Madrid this term, while bagging a further four goals for Wales in their quest to reach next year's Euro finals in France.
