Rangers have reportedly failed in their attempts to lure Robin van Persie to Ibrox.
Over the past 24 hours, it has been suggested that the Netherlands international will sign a deal with the Glasgow giants, and some bookmakers have moved to suspend betting on the former Arsenal and Manchester United forward moving to the Scottish Premiership.
However, according to talkSPORT, the 32-year-old will not be joining Rangers, although he is keen to cut short his time at Fenerbahce.
Van Persie impressed during his first season in Turkey but it has been claimed that he wants to return to the United Kingdom before the end of the transfer window.
Stoke City and Middlesbrough have previously been linked with a move for the attacker.
