Rangers 'not planning Michel Preud'homme appointment'

Former Club Brugge boss Michel Preud'homme is reportedly not in the running to succeed Pedro Caixinha as Rangers manager, despite holding talks with the club.

Rangers have no plans to hold further discussions with former Club Brugge boss Michel Preud'homme over their vacant managerial vacancy, according to a report.

The 58-year-old's agent suggested in an interview with the Daily Mail that talks are currently ongoing with the Scottish club, who parted company with Pedro Caixinha on Thursday.

Sky Sports News claims that the Gers intend to look at other candidates, though, with a manager boasting knowledge of British football high on the agenda.

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes remains the current frontrunner to take charge at Ibrox, despite recently declaring himself "very happy" at his current club.

Graeme Murty has been placed in temporary charge, overseeing Saturday's 3-1 win over Hearts that moved Rangers back within six points of leaders Celtic.
