Preview: Queens Park Rangers vs. Huddersfield Town - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between Queens Park Rangers and Huddersfield Town, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Since this article was published, this match has been postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Queens Park Rangers head into Saturday's fixture with Huddersfield Town looking for the win which could move the club into the Championship playoff places.

In sharp contrast, the visitors travel to Loftus Road sitting four points adrift of safety and desperately in search of just their second win of the campaign.

Given the change of management during the summer, QPR should feel relatively content with a return of 11 points from their opening eight matches.

However, Michael Beale will continue to demand more from his team with goal-laden performances being complemented by three 1-0 defeats.

The Hoops are also yet to keep a clean sheet this campaign with more than one goal being conceded in half of their outings in the second tier.

On the back of hugely impressive wins over Watford and Hull City, QPR went down by a 1-0 scoreline at Swansea City last weekend.

Nevertheless, the majority of their points have come at their London home, and there will be confidence that they can inflict more misery on their upcoming opponents.

At the beginning of the campaign, Danny Schofield could have claimed with justification that the team's poor displays were down to the minimal time working under his guidance after the departure of Carlos Corberan.

However, the Terriers have now suffered five defeats in seven Championship outings, the most recent setback against Blackpool coming in controversial circumstances.

The failure of goal-line technology prevented Huddersfield from netting an equaliser against the Seasiders before they ultimately posted a 1-0 defeat at the John Smith's Stadium.

Schofield's side are now four games without a win and they make the trip to the capital having lost each of their away fixtures this season.

Team News

Aston Villa loanee Tim Ireogbunam and summer arrival Tyler Roberts are both pushing for opportunities in midfield and attack respectively.

Sam Field and Lyndon Dykes are the duo most likely to miss out, but the remainder of the team which started at Swansea could stay the same.

Jake Clarke-Salter and Taylor Richards are both still on the sidelines through injury.

Changes to the Huddersfield side are inevitable with Michal Helik potentially making his debut in the back three.

Duane Holmes could get the nod over Tino Anjorin, while Jordan Rhodes will feel that he deserves a chance ahead of Danny Ward down the middle of the attack.

Queens Park Rangers possible starting lineup:
Dieng; Laird, Dickie, Dunne, Paal; Johansen, Iroegbunam, Dozzell; Chair, Roberts, Willock

Huddersfield Town possible starting lineup:
Nicholls; Lees, Helik, Turton; Hayden, Russell, Rudoni, Nakayama; Holmes, Thomas; Rhodes

We say: Queens Park Rangers 2-0 Huddersfield Town

As much as luck has not been on Huddersfield's side this season, they are also responsible for their poor effort on their travels. With that in mind, we expect a comfortable win for QPR, recording a rare clean sheet in the process.
