Former Queens Park Rangers player and manager Terry Venables has backed Harry Redknapp to turn things round at Loftus Road.
Redknapp is due to be confirmed as the new QPR boss later today, less than 24 hours after Mark Hughes was sacked by Hoops chairman Tony Fernandes.
Venables has admitted that he has sympathy for Hughes but feels that Redknapp can use his experience to dig QPR out of trouble.
He told The Sun: "If anybody can lead a club out of a crisis like the one that is facing Rangers at the moment, Redknapp can.
"That is no reflection on Hughes, a man I signed as a player and a man I have huge respect for as both a person and a manager.
"But in this situation I feel Redknapp may be better suited to this situation."
QPR are rock bottom of the Premier League ahead of today's match against Manchester United.
