Harry Redknapp says that he was "embarrassed" to read reports that West Ham United were keen to replace Sam Allardyce with the Queens Park Rangers boss.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has dismissed suggestions that he could become the new West Ham United boss.

There had been reports that the Hammers hierarchy were keen to welcome back the 66-year-old to Upton Park due to the uncertainty of Sam Allardyce's future.

The current West Ham boss will come to the end of his contract in the summer, but Allardyce has revealed that he is poised to sign a new deal.

"I was embarrassed when I read that," Sky Sports News quotes Redknapp as saying. "They've got a manager. Sam [Allardyce] has done a great job there and is talking about signing a new contract. They don't need me."

Redknapp managed the Hammers from 1994 to 2001.
