Djibril Cisse insists that he will be doing all he can to help Queens Park Rangers defeat his former club Liverpool on Wednesday.

Djibril Cisse will forget his allegiance towards former club Liverpool when they travel to his new employers Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday evening.

The French international spent two seasons on Merseyside until 2006, making 82 appearances in the process.

Despite admitting that he holds a soft spot for the Reds, the 30-year-old has insisted that he will do all he can to help QPR collect all three points.

"All my trophies I won with Liverpool, it's a special club for me, but for an hour and a half, there is no mercy," Cisse told The Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle. "It's my club, to be honest, but when the whistle blows that feeling will disappear.

"It was difficult to leave because it wasn't my decision. Rafa Benitez told me 'you're not in my plans'. I thought I deserved better treatment. But that's the way it was and I have to accept it.

"I don't feel like I have a point to prove to Liverpool because the staff has changed, and a lot of players have changed."

Cisse joined QPR from Lazio in January.
