Queens Park Rangers midfielder Leroy Fer will go for a scan on Wednesday to discover the extent of a knee injury suffered in the victory at Sunderland.
The Dutch international left the pitch on a stretcher after scoring one of the two goals which earned Rangers their first Premier League away points of the season.
The Hoops reportedly fear that the damage sustained in the second-half collision with Liam Bridcutt could be extensive and may see Fer sidelined for several months alongside defender Richard Dunne.
Thirteen-goal top scorer Charlie Austin is also facing two weeks out of action as injuries begin to mount on the managerless relegation candidates.
Fer has scored four goals in 26 games since joining Rangers from Norwich City for £8m last summer.
