Gregory van der Wiel eager for Paris Saint-Germain stay

Gregory van der Wiel reveals that he wants to sign a new contract with PSG following speculation over his future.

Paris Saint-Germain defender Gregory van der Wiel has revealed that he wants to stay at the club following speculation over his future.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the French capital amid reports that the French champions are keen on Barcelona's Dani Alves.

However, Dutch international Van der Wiel insists that he is happy at PSG and is also eager to pen a fresh contract.

"I am genuinely happy at PSG," he told L'Equipe. "I love the club, I love the city and I love my teammates. Everything is perfect for me here. There is absolutely no reason for me to leave. I want to sign a new contract."

Van der Wiel's current deal at the Parc des Princes expires at the end of next season.
