Sao Paulo want Lucas Moura on loan

Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes admits that he would like to re-sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura on loan.

Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has admitted that he would like re-sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura on loan.

However, Lopes is aware that it may be difficult to persuade the 21-year-old, who moved to PSG for a transfer fee of £37.5m in January, to return to Brazil.

"It's obvious that we want him to return and we had opportunities to talk with his agent two weeks ago, but he said that it's hard because Lucas wants to stay," Lopes told Lancenet.

"If he wants to return to Brazil, he will come to Sao Paulo. But considering the information we have, it's very hard."

Despite conceding that there are many obstacles in his way, Lopes remains optimistic that a deal can be struck.

He added: "There are various issues, the first one is that his family have adapted to Europe and the second one is his financial situation.

"Lucas won't want to reduce his wages, which are very high and the club, if they do release him, will try and loan him to another European club.

"But what we do have is the strength and prestige of Juvenal Juvencio, and his presence might change the situation."

Lucas has scored two goals in 15 first-team appearances for PSG this season.
