Diego Lugano expresses his intention to return to Sao Paulo after his playing spell with Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain centre half Diego Lugano has revealed that he wishes to return to Brazil before the end of his career.

The 31-year-old defender only joined the Ligue 1 leaders in the summer but has already expressed his intention to eventually go back to South America.

"Sooner or later, I will return to Brazil to play for Sao Paulo, the team where it all really started for me," Lugano told FIFA's official website.

"I feel very close to the club and the fans have asked me to come back.

"I also have a lot of fond memories of Turkey, but if I am to return anywhere, it will without doubt be to Sao Paulo."

Lugano has been capped 63 times by his national side, Uruguay.
