Alex desperate to earn new Paris Saint-Germain contract

Alex admits that he is eager to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Brazilian defender Alex has revealed that he would prefer to stay at Paris Saint-Germain beyond the end of the current season.

The 31-year-old's deal with the Ligue 1 champions expires in the summer, and the club are yet to make it clear that he remains a part of manager Laurent Blanc's plans.

However, Alex has indicated that he is confident of being offered a new contract by PSG.

"I am a PSG player and I give my very best for the club, and I believe I will remain a PSG player next season," Alex told L'Equipe.

PSG signed Alex from Chelsea in January 2012.
