Paris Saint-Germain's Zlatan Ibrahimovic equals Champions League goals record

Zlatan Ibrahimovic joins Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruud van Nistelrooy as the players to have scored eight goals in a single Champions League group stage.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has equalled the record for the number of goals scored in the group stage of the Champions League in a single season.

The Sweden international scored the opening goal in PSG's 2-1 home win against Olympiacos on Wednesday to take his tally to eight strikes in five matches this campaign.

Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid also has eight goals to his name in Europe's premier club competition this season.

Ruud van Nistelrooy (2004-05), Hernan Crespo (2002-03) and Filippo Inzaghi (2002-03) are the other three players who share the record.

PSG have progressed to the last 16 of this season's Champions League campaign as Group C winners.
