Paulo Bento "pleased" with Cristiano Ronaldo's progress

Portugal boss Paulo Bento claims that he is "pleased" with the progress Cristiano Ronaldo is making in his attempts to recover from injury.

Portugal coach Paulo Bento has claimed that he is "pleased" with the progress Cristiano Ronaldo is making in his recovery from injury.

The Real Madrid forward was suffering from knee and thigh problems ahead of the World Cup, but the Portuguese boss is happy with his player's recuperation.

"My confidence in the medical department of the national team is 100%," Bento told reporters. "We are pleased with the progress of Ronaldo.

"All three (Ronaldo, Raul Meireles and Pepe) are different injury situations. In the case of Raul, he played until the end of the league season.

"Ronaldo's case is somewhat different. It had to do with what happened in the Champions League final."

Portugal will meet Germany, Ghana and the United States in Group G.
