Portsmouth have signed Preston North End winger Lee Holmes on loan until the start of January.
The 27-year-old could make his debut for Pompey this Saturday when they travel to Tranmere Rovers in League Two.
Holmes joined Preston in 2012 following a four-year spell with Southampton.
"Lee's a good addition to our squad and we're delighted that he's signed," Portsmouth boss Andy Awford told the club's official website.
"There are a lot of games coming up over the busy Christmas period, so we're going to need a lot of bodies. He's a great asset to have and we'd like to thank Preston for their help in getting the deal over the line."
Portsmouth are currently in 10th place in the League Two table, four points adrift of the top six.
