Former Portsmouth full-back Nadir Belhadj is being investigated for bigamy by authorities in France.

A woman claiming to be the 29-year-old's wife has reported him to the police after learning that he had recently wed again in Qatar.

She has insisted that they had married in his native Algeria two years ago and went on to have a child together.

The defender, who now plays in for Qatari side Al-Sadd, will have his second marriage annulled and could face criminal charges if he is found guilty.
