Steve Coppell is in talks with Portsmouth to become their new manager, according to The Mirror.
The 56-year-old left Bristol City in August 2010 after only four months in charge and said at the time that he would never manage again.
However, he is expected to be unveiled as the new boss at Fratton Park by the end of the week.
The club has been looking for a new boss since Steve Cotterill's departure for Nottingham Forest last month.
