Maurizio Zamperini "worried" by Palermo start

Palermo's president says that he fears relegation from Serie A as a consequence of his team's poor start to the Serie A season.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has admitted that his team's slump in form has him fearful of relegation from Serie A.

The Rosanero have won just one point from their opening three games, coming in a 1-1 draw against Cagliari yesterday.

Speculation surrounding Giuseppe Sannino's future at the Stadio Renzo Barber is already mounting, but Zamperini refused to comment on the situation.

"I am worried we're going to get relegated," Football Italia has quoted Zamparini as saying.

When asked if Sannino was in danger of losing his job, the 71-year-old replied: "I prefer to get drunk rather than answer that question."

Sannino took charge of the Sicilian outfit in June.
