Kemar Roofe makes permanent Oxford United switch

West Brom striker Kemar Roofe joins Oxford United on a permanent deal following a loan spell at the Kassam Stadium.

Oxford United have signed Kemar Roofe on a permanent deal from West Bromwich Albion following the striker's loan spell at the Kassam Stadium.

The 22-year-old joined the League Two club on a temporary basis in February before going on to score six goals in 16 games.

Despite reported interest from elsewhere, Roofe has penned a three-year deal with the club.

"It was an easy decision," he told Oxford's official website. "Not only have I enjoyed my football at Oxford and been made to feel really welcome but I have also seen how ambitious the club are.

"We finished last season really strongly, the bulk of that side will be here next season and there is a really positive atmosphere around the whole club. The fans played a big part as well. They have been great with me and I would love to be part of a team that brings them the success they deserve."

Roofe leaves West Brom after a four-year spell at The Hawthorns.
