Dougie Freedman to have final say on Henri Lansbury future

Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman says that he will have the final say over Henri Lansbury's future at the club.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has insisted that he will have the final say over Henri Lansbury's future at the club.

The midfielder has been linked with Championship rivals Burnley, with Reds owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi responding to speculation by saying that the club have not accepted a bid from the Clarets for the 25-year-old.

Freedman has confirmed that Burnley have made an offer, but he will talk to both Lansbury and Al-Hasawi before deciding whether to accept it or not.

"Henri's opinion will count for a lot. I have to look after the interests of the club, of myself and of the player – so there are three people who matter in this," the Reds boss told the Nottingham Post.

"I will make the decision with the chairman, over what is best for Forest. You have to take into consideration what the player wants as well. But we also need to balance the books while making sure we remain strong as a team.

"The bid has not been rejected. We have noted that they have made a bid and we will get back to them with an answer, when I have had a talk with the chairman and with Henri. The final decision will lie with me, this club will always come first. We do not need money; we do not need to sell him. But we have to do what is right."

Lansbury joined Forest from Arsenal for £1m in 2012.
