Norwich City reportedly end their interest in Everton forward Joshua King, who will leave the Toffees when his contract expires at the end of this month.

Norwich City have reportedly ended their interest in Everton forward Joshua King, who will be released by the club at the end of this month.

King only arrived at Goodison Park from Bournemouth at the beginning of February but struggled to make his mark in Carlo Ancelotti's side, making just 11 league appearances and failing to find the back of the net.

Everton announced last week that, along with Theo Walcott, Yannick Bolasie and Muhamed Besic, King will become a free agent after his contract expires on June 30.

Football Insider reports that recently-crowned Championship champions Norwich were in the hunt to sign the Norwegian international, however the club have now ended their interest due to the forward's wage demands.

It is reported that King is holding out for a £60,000-a-week long-term contract, which is more than what the Canaries are willing to pay on their mission to operate on a self-sustainable budget.

King has vast experience of playing in the Premier League, with most of his appearances in the top flight coming for Bournemouth between 2015 and 2020.
