Norwich City extend winless home run

Norwich City extend their winless home run courtesy of a 1-1 draw with Rotherham United.

Norwich City have failed to win in their last four home games after playing out a 1-1 draw with Rotherham United this afternoon.

The heavens opened at Carrow Road as Jonny Howson chipped in a ball for Cameron Jerome, who brought it down well but miscued his shot under pressure.

Rotherham's Kari Arnason then headed back across goal, but Matt Derbyshire could not get the ball out of his feet and Norwich keeper John Ruddy was there to deal with the danger.

The home side were given a great chance to go in front soon after, but Bradley Johnson showed an unfortunate lack of composure in front of goal.

The winger received a lay-off from Nathan Redmond and looked well placed to test Adam Collin, but he hurried his feet and eventually smashed over the bar.

It was an encouraging period for the hosts, who continued to pressure thanks mainly to the good work of midfielder Wes Hoolahan.

Jerome came close with a couple of glancing headers, but Rotherham's Paul Green turned the game on its head by scoring a penalty just before the break.

Following the restart, Alex Revell span and played in Derbyshire, who pulled his shot narrowly wide of Ruddy's post.

Norwich pressed for an equaliser and came agonisingly close through substitute Kyle Lafferty's effort, but the ball smacked against the post as Rotherham held firm.

Howson had to be alert to head off the line, however, after Craig Morgan powered the ball towards goal.

Rotherham were made to rue the missed chance as Jerome grabbed a deserved goal for Norwich by following up Lafferty's free kick, which had hit the post.
