Steve Morison believes that fellow Norwich City striker Grant Holt deserves his chance for England.
Holt, 30, was touted as a possible member of Stuart Pearce's squad to face Holland on Wednesday, but he missed out on a spot.
Morison, however, has claimed that his Canaries teammate is the best of his type in the Premier League.
"He's had a fantastic season and I've thoroughly enjoyed playing with him. He's scored some fantastic goals and is knocking on the door, that's all you can do," Morison told talkSPORT.
"He's the best player in his mould in the Premier League at the moment. He's a bit of a handful and is a bit different to what England have got already."
Holt has 10 Premier League goals to his name this season.
