Chris Hughton has insisted that his Norwich City side are not destined to be relegated this season.
The Canaries are without a win so far this season and as a result sit second from bottom in the Premier League table.
Despite admitting that his team are going through a tough period, Hughton is adamant that there is plenty of time for their fortunes to be reserved.
"For clubs like ours, the season is always about making sure we retain Premier League status. That was no different at the start of the season from where we are now," Hughton told the Eastern Daily Press.
"We are seven games into what was always going to be a tough season. We're always going to have good periods and bad periods and at the moment we're going through a difficult period. But so are other clubs. We're not out on a limb."
After the international break Norwich will play host to Arsenal.
