Chris Hughton: 'Next game becomes a bigger one'

Chris Hughton says Norwich City's next game against West Ham United becomes a bigger one having lost 7-0 to Manchester City this afternoon.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has admitted that his side's next game against West Ham United becomes a bigger one having lost 7-0 to Manchester City in the Premier League this afternoon.

Norwich were put to the sword at the Etihad Stadium, with City grabbing goals through seven different scores as they eased to a memorable victory.

"They are all big games but this one becomes a bigger one, not only because of the defeat today but because of the manner of the defeat today. It's at home and we need to start rectifying things and picking up points," Hughton told Sky Sports News when questioned about the visit of West Ham next weekend.

"We can only rectify it but working hard on the pitch. Whatever progress we feel we'd made in previous weeks on the ball, we've gone backwards in our work without the ball - gifting soft, soft goals.

"You come here and you know that you are going to conceded territorial possession because of the quality that they've got. They are going to probe you and going to test you from the first minute to the last but you have to be bigger and braver than we were today."

Norwich now find themselves in the bottom three following the defeat.
