Gus Poyet desperate for another Premier League job

Axed Sunderland boss Gus Poyet admits that he hopes to get another Premier League job but would also not mind a spell in another European club.

Former Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has expressed an ambition to snap up another Premier League job.

The Uruguayan was sacked by the Black Cats on March 16 following a run of six games without a victory, with Dick Advocaat ultimately succeeding him.

Poyet, who has also managed Brighton & Hove Albion, hopes to stay in England but would not be averse to a spell in another European league.

"I would like to stay in England," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Star. "And if it is possible, the Premier League is the maximum.

"Unfortunately in football, to get a job, another manager has to lose his position which is not nice.

"But I am open to Europe as well. It would be a great experience for me to go and use the qualities I have been learning in England somewhere else."

Advocaat has managed one win in four since replacing the 47-year-old.
