Sepp Blatter to stand for fifth term as FIFA president

Sepp Blatter announces that he will stand for a fifth term as president of world governing body FIFA in 2015.

Sepp Blatter has revealed that he will stand for a fifth term as president of world football governing body FIFA.

The 78-year-old previously stated that he would only run for the position if he were asked by the associations.

"I'm a candidate again," Blatter told Swiss newspaper Blick. "My mandate has ended but by mission is not finished."

If Blatter is successful in 2015, it will be his fourth re-election, with his original election coming in June 1998.
