Newcastle United have a £15m option to buy Aston Villa full-back Matt Targett, according to a report.
The 26-year-old made the move to St James Park during the January transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the season, and since that point, he has been a regular for the Magpies.
Targett has played four times under Eddie Howe since joining the club, while he already featured 17 times for his previous side, who signed Lucas Digne in his position.
According to The Shields Gazette, Newcastle negotiated a £15m fee into the deal they made with Aston Villa, which means they can sign the defender on a permanent deal for that price in the summer.
The Magpies do not have an obligation to buy him though, which means they will be able to make the call when the season ends as to whether or not they want to keep Targett.
Newcastle will be back in action on Thursday when they face Southampton in the Premier League.
