Newcastle United scrap Spanish striker Xisco's contract.

Newcastle United have terminated Xisco's contract at the club.

The Spaniard, who joined the Magpies for £5.7m in 2008, has been all but forgotten at St James' Park in recent seasons.

The striker has made just nine appearances during his time in the North-East and has now been shown the door.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew said back in November last year that Xisco could still have a future at the club, but his Premier League career has come to an abrupt end.
