Luuk de Jong 'travelling to Newcastle United for medical'

Borussia Mochengladbach reportedly confirm that Luuk de Jong is travelling to England for a medical with Newcastle United.

Borussia Monchengladbach forward Luuk de Jong is reportedly edging closer to a switch to Newcastle United.

The Netherlands international recently expressed his frustration at playing a bit-part role in the Bundesliga.

The Magpies' interest in De Jong has been documented for some time, but it appears that a move is being pushed through after Newcastle reportedly agreed in principle a deal with Paris Saint-Germain over the sale of Yohan Cabaye.

According to Sky Sports News, Borussia have confirmed that De Jong is travelling to Newcastle for a medical ahead of a proposed loan move today.

Reports have claimed that PSG will pay over £14m for Cabaye.
