Alan Pardew: "We just didn't get the breaks"

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew believes that his side didn't get the bounce of the ball in their defeat to Stoke City.

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew feels that his side were unlucky not to get something out of their Premier League clash with Stoke City.

Erik Pieters struck in the 42nd minute to hand the Potters the win over the Magpies and condemn Pardew's men to their fourth defeat in a row.

Pardew told BBC Sport: "We just didn't get the breaks. I can't fault the character of the players and the honesty they showed."

Newcastle are ninth in the Premier League with 46 points from 34 games.
