Remi Garde to bring own staff to Newcastle United?

Remi Garde will want to bring his former Lyon backroom staff to Newcastle United if talks for the vacant head coach job progress, according to a report.

Remi Garde will reportedly want to bring his former Lyon backroom staff to Newcastle United if talks for the vacant head coach job progress.

The Frenchman is thought to to be among the favourites to take charge of the club following Alan Pardew's recent departure to Crystal Palace.

Reports have suggested that Garde has held informal talks with the Magpies.

Garde would like to add Bruno Genesio and Joel Bats to his backroom team if he moves to St James' Park, according to The Chronicle.

However, the pair are still contracted to Lyon and president Jean-Michel Aulas is expected to drive a hard bargain for their services.

Coaches John Carver, Steve Stone and Andy Woodman are also all contracted to Newcastle until 2020, after the trio penned similar deals to Pardew when he signed a long-term deal in 2012, which could make it difficult to bring new people into the club.

Carver is currently in caretaker charge of the first team.
