Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow has suggested that he can challenge Netherlands international Tim Krul to become the club's main keeper.
The 24-year-old, who joined the club from Nottingham Forest last season before returning to the City Ground on loan, insists that he is happy to be patient for a chance on Tyneside.
"You can be out the side one game then in for the rest of the season," Darlow told the Shields Gazette. "It's about training as hard as I can and pushing Tim [Krul] as hard as I can and waiting for my chance.
"As second-choice keeper, it's about patience, and I knew the situation when I came up here. I'm still young and hungry to achieve big things."
Darlow made his Newcastle debut in a 4-1 victory over Northampton Town in the League Cup last month.
